Greeting Anjlart Friends,
Wow, has it really been over two months since my last Anjlart Newsletter? I hope you are all well and gearing up for all
the upcoming holidays and festivities. Here are some of the latest happenings in the world of Anjlart.
Anjlart
As you may have all ready seen I am working on a new series of paintings called “The Holding Series.” One day while
playing in Springville, my friend Stacy who was spending the day with me, started talking to me right in the middle of a
song stating that she had just gotten the inspiration to tell me that my next painting needed to be about “holding.” She
did not know that this idea had all ready revealed itself to me and by her telling me that day, it confirmed that the next
painting was just waiting to be painted.
The first piece of the series is called, “You Holding Me.” As my hand reached for the oil pastels on the table in my
studio, I knew this was going somewhere new since I have never used oil pastels on a painting before. These first two
pieces have been challenging for me on many levels. Firstly and mostly…on an emotional level. Although I’ve been
enjoying my solitude these past two years, I have learned to be still when something makes me want to run. And it is
this idea of “being held”…or the lack thereof…that I have invited to come teach me what it is I need to know about
what it is that really happens when people hold one another.
The second piece titled, “Holding my hand” is still in progress. It’s been a challenge to try to paint what I feel about the
amazing power of connection when two palms touch. This idea’s conception began at Miraval in June of 2005 when I
had my first hot stone massage. Something very powerful happened when two hot stones were placed in both of my
hands and then again when they were removed. The second experience happened the following summer (2006)
while having an Ayurvedic treatment on my first day. There was a very deep and powerful sensation when the palms
of my massage therapist made contact with mine throughout the body treatment. This was the moment that I new I
was suppose to paint.
Then during my journaling (Morning Pages) one day it then came to be what the third painting is to be. So you will
need to stay tuned for information on this next painting as soon as this one is finished.
As always I look forward to your insight about each painting as they speak to you.
Anjlart Music
So much is happening with Anjlart music. Upon reading old journals I have run across some old songs I had written
years ago. The lasted piece, “To Dance” is a wonderful old favorite that addresses the importance of choosing to
Love. “…without love….we haven’t a chance to dance.”
Recording the CD with Dave Ogden in his Clear Creek Studio (http://www.clearcreekrecording.com/index.html) has
been such a wonderful experience. It has been my goal to have the CD ready by Christmas. In September I found
myself at a block that I didn’t understand until Jeff Williams and I crossed paths. Jeff is a wonderful guitarist from
Santa Cruz, CA. and has began playing with me this past month. He adds so much to my original tunes that I am
hoping this will be the kind of enhancement I was looking for to finish up the project.
If you haven’t heard Jeff’s contribution to my tunes please make sure to come to the Springville Apple Festival Next
weekend, (October 21) where we will be playing at Coffee Etc. at the usual time from 12-3pm. You will also be able to
hear a couple of his originals and a cover or two.
Then as always you can count on joining us at The Village Grill gigs which are still on the 2nd and last Sunday of each
month… and thankfully back at the original time of 10am-1pm.
Artist’s Way Playshops
As you may all ready know, the Artist’s Way Playshops began in September and we are well into our 6th week of the
first course. It has been awesome playing and getting to walk this spiritual path with some new creative souls that
were lead to my door and to each other’s lives. If you weren’t able to join this particular group, perhaps you will be
able to pick up the next group (Walking in This World) in January. (See flyer on the Anjlart.com website

Well, this is much too meaty for a little ol’ Anjlart Newsletter. Yet I do hope to see you all soon.
Please be well sweet friends.
Namaste,
Angeline/Anjlart
