Greeting Anjlart Friends,
Happy April!
First thing I’d like to introduce for this month’s newsletter is my newest painting…
”Whispering Boundaries” She is truly a beautiful piece that has such a wonderful
feminine energy…and she is so versatile because she hangs just as beautifully in all four
directions. I think out of all the paintings I have ever painted this one is the most
intriguing with each rotation. She is done in oil on a 22 x 28 2 inch Creative Edge canvas
and she sells for $1500.
“Whispering Boundaries” speaks of the much needed concern of having respect for
healthy boundaries. I think this painting shows how with some heart connections that
energy space shared can be quite powerful and even beautiful…and how very important
it is to listen to one’s heart while letting people into your personal space.
This has been quite a lesson for me these past few months and it is within this realm that
the path separated for Lewis and me. Without really being able to see all the nuances
that were a part of it all… it became apparent that it was time to go our separate ways
from the wonderful music we had been creating together. The split is still pretty fresh and
not all the angles are as clear as I would like them to be but because of this door closing
a whole new path has opened before me. I wish Lewis the very best on his creative path.
I would also like to wish Christine well on her personal journey as well.
So, I never thought I’d actually be doing solo gigs at this time in my life! All I know is that
last night marked a milestone for this singer/songwriter. Not only did I take my
“Maiden Voyage” as a solo performer…my first gig was in Morro Bay, CA where my
heart loves to just be so to play there was extra special.
Stepping out like this is just one of those times in my life where I felt the call was so much
larger than my silly little ego. It is another example of turning my will and my life over to
something much greater. What is it all about??? I don’t know exactly but I can tell you
that the courage and faith I was forced to exercise, did not lead me off the cliff and I
realized that life is made for living!
There were some very sweet souls at the Otter Rock Café that I would like to
aknowledge…Thank you Jaime, Randy, Tony, Beowulf, Jane and the Karaoke Ladies. I
will see you all again on Easter Sunday April 16…and more than Thank You sweet
Bright Eyes for the magical reward at the end of this inner marathon… for all of my
favorite ingredients were rolled into such a treasure Sea Chest for the evening. So
sweet and such a perfection of time shared!
So now, this creative woman’s journey continues and it’s always just as much a surprise
to me as it is to you all. Who or what will be around the next corner? What song,
painting, class, workshop will appear for me to attend to? I do not know. I do know there
are songs waiting to be put to music and music in search for lyrics. There is a very
obvious call to get these songs recorded and there is quite a canvas waiting to be
painted.
With all this said…let me also announce that I am making my 3rd trip to Miraval Life in
Balance Resort in June and am awaiting word about the possibility of teaching some
workshops there. This is another path that seems to be carving its way. I will keep you
all posted.
So, with all this going on, I hope so much to see your faces on the path please join me…I
love meeting new friends, but there is something so very warming about seeing those of
you who’ve been sharing your lives with me along the way. Mark your calendars and
come on the road with me …or I’ll see you in town at The Village Grill (last Sunday of
the month) where we can all lounge on the patio and get caught up. Here’s another list
of where I will be…
