Portrait Drawing

This is a new medium/genre of art for me.
I've only been trying my hand at drawing
since this past September when I was
forced to teach drawing to my Beginning Art
classes.

The first sketch is of Stratos Kesoglou who
is the Byzantine Icon Artist I met last winter
on the island of Chios.

This second sketch is a self portrait that I
did from a photo taken on the same day that
I was leaving the island of Chios which was
the day that I met my friend Stratos.

Stratos has seen photos of this drawing
and being a typical Greek artist...told me to
fix his eyes.
I did my best.
